hello there, my real name is gary. i am a struggling illustrator from london, i am 23 years old. i stole my 'journal' name from a character in my friend soapy's childrens book, siblick is an evil red dragon (i just liked the name). i was brought up in a holiday town called bouremouth, famous to some for being the beverly hills of england, it isn't quite, it's pretty though. i've never been a particularly academic person and struggled terribly at school, always finding comfort in drawing. at 17 i moved to london to study theatre design at central st martins where i found a passion for object and puppet theatre. i never really saw it as a something i could make a living from though. i graduated in 2002 and decided to pursue my first love drawing as a career. for the last 2 years i have been working as student adviser at my old university whilst finding way as a freelance illustrator and prop designer, it's been quite a busy year, i'm finally getting alot of big commissions (mostley from fashion companies), i also came out to my parents, which was a really big deal.
